From about Wednesday last week things became a bit crazy. And from today, a new adventure begins. We have been in meetings, making long phone calls, buying new furniture, and rearranging our lives all for this special day in our lives. Over the weekend we had close friends and family assisting us just so we could get the house ready for an important person. So now you know, a little person is coming to live with us. That is all I can share with you at the moment, but I hope you give you little peaks into this new part of my our life.

Unpacking New Stock
Struggling with a nasty sore throat and cold kept me in bed for a lot of the morning, but thinking about sorting through my new stock of Japanese antiques made my spirits rise.
When I first put my eyes on these chawans (miso bowls) I thought they were made of plastic like most modern ones. However I was wrong! After picking one up and noticing how heavy it was, I gave it a close inspection. Looking at where some of the lacquer had peeled I noticed it was wood! What a pleasant surprise!
These little wooden boxes that must of been used for drinking sake or perhaps as a scoop for rice. Notice the kokeshi print on them...?
I also have some back issues of "Fruits" and other interesting Japanese magazines.
There is also a stack of the most amazing Japanese photos. This one (which I am keeping by the way) of a little girl is my favourite because she reminds me of a kokeshi doll!

New Stock From Japan
I arrived home from the gym today to find a rather large box sitting in the lounge room. Such a large box could only mean one thing. My shipment of new stock for my pop up shop at the Camberwell Market and online had finally arrived!
Wanna take a small peak...? Below is a photo of the first layer of goodies!
Vintage Japanese Medicine boxes! I think I'll be keeping one for myself! Tomorrow I'll post a few more photos and I hope to put some new stock in my Japonisme store. If you'd like to look at my Japanese goodies up close then please come along to the Camberwell Market Sunday week. I'm taking this Sunday off as I want to check out the Melbourne Design Market

Camberwell Market
Just a few cute things I am selling at my 'pop up store' at the Camberwell Market on Sundays. This girl and boy were drawn from some small kokeshi I gave to my Mother.
Darumas, for good luck!
And a pretty Japanese tea pot.
