Darling is a Foreigner

When I was in Japan, I purchased the comic book 'Darling is a Foreigner' with the good intent of reading it. I made it through a few pages, then somehow it stayed unfinished (and still is). Recently, I learned the first comic book had been made into a movie and today I watched it with my partner. It was very romantic and in my opinion, it showed a good contrast of two cultures. Maybe you should try and watch it?  - Oh, and it was funny too.

Magazine Holder

I found this great magazine holder at the Camberwell Market on Sunday. It's perfect for holding my Japanese magazines, photos and calendars.

Two more to go

As you may know, I have been studying pattern making and construction part-time this year. There have been many times when I have wanted to quit (and some students have) because of the workload. Finally, I decided to keep going and focus on what I wanted to get from the course, which is not the certificate, but the skills and to be able to learn at my own pace rather than deadlines.

The garment you see here is one of three garments I need to complete before December 12. The first two are from patterns provided by the school, however the last pattern (which will be a shirt) must be our own. I am looking forward to the last project as finally, I'll be making something of my own to wear.
